Attending church alone does not define your faith, but when true believers come together, they form “church”. And when the saints, who are united in Christ, gather as church, they experience fellowship and growth marked by abundant love. The overflowing love of God, poured into every heart, is evident through the manifestations of power and faith by the Holy Spirit, proving the authenticity of genuine church.
Attending a church, going to a church is not the complete definition of church.

Be Genuine

A genuine church cannot retain members who are not genuine in their faith. Likewise, true believers cannot remain in an organized church that lacks authenticity. This may pose a challenge for those seeking a place of worship. How does one find an authentic place of worship? Remember that there are genuine places of worship where you may not physically attend. You may have a specific purpose where you are, while others have their own God-given assignments elsewhere. “I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd” (John 10:16).

Be Genuine

Firstly, are you genuine in your relationship with God? Do you truly love God and believe in His Word? Are you growing in your relationship with God and with fellow believers? Some people may be genuine, but their genuineness is directed towards other aspects of life such as work, family, socializing, or personal achievements. However, being genuine in your relationship with God in Christ is a different matter altogether. The greatest commandment…

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments” (Matthew 22:36-40, KJV).

Be Genuine

Being genuine for God means prioritizing your relationship with Him above everything else. It requires loving God in a specific way – with all your heart, soul, and mind. Give your whole heart to God, and let your desires and passions be aligned with obeying His Word. Jesus teaches us that if we love God, we will keep His commandments.

Be Genuine

Therefore, by obeying His commandments, we demonstrate our love for Him. We strive to obey Him eagerly, seeking His presence. We love Him with all our souls, longing for fellowship and relationship with Him. And we love Him with our entire minds, engaging our intelligence and understanding in our love for Him. Our entire being is focused on loving God.

Now, that’s genuine!
